The concept of multi-media storage systems is to store your media without wasting the depth of a shelf and also the height in between shelves designed for letter or legal size folders. Many times will we find a multi-media center storing media in a system improperly designed with the wrong depth shelves or wasted clearance in between shelves. Multi-Media is commonly found stored in moveable compact shelving systems, vertical carousels, multi-media cabinets, Gemtracs and other various storage systems.

Productivity Rating: Compact shelving systems have the highest storage density of any filing system available on the market for offices but only allow up to a maximum of 40 file actions per hour. This translates into a fair productivity rating and can slow down active environments where employees are moving in and out of collapsible aisles searching for multi-media.

Mobile Shelving systems can be moved manually (not recommended for ergonomic or ADA safety guidelines), mechanically assisted (most common application) with a rotating handle on the end panel of each movable carriage or electronically (safest option) with a motor on each movable carriage.
